DSU: Denial of misinformation regarding the loss of the fight against COVID-19

dsu deny disinformation fight covid-19

DSU published today an important warning for Romanians all over the country, one that tells us that a lie is being distributed regarding a statement made by Raed Arafat in an interview on a Romanian television, and below you have all the details necessary.

"As a result of the spread on several sources of the information according to which the Secretary of State, head of the Department for Emergency Situations, allegedly stated that "Unfortunately, we have lost the fight against Covid-19!" We make the following clarification:

During a Skype intervention by the head of the DSU on a television, i.e. Digi 24, the discussions covered several topics, among which we mention the current health context, new directions of action, etc.

During the same discussion, the head of the DSU also spoke about the pressure on the medical system during this period, for which he sent a message of condolence to his colleagues, the family of the medical staff that ceased to exist yesterday, October 16, 2020, as a result of infection with the new SARS coronavirus - CoV-2.

Here is a part of the statement of the head of the DSU: "...Unfortunately, we still have colleagues who are sick among those who take care of patients, and I want to publicly convey my condolences to the colleagues from Fetești and the entire emergency system and medical colleagues in general for the death of the head of the receptions - emergency from Fetești which unfortunately after a month of fighting with COVID-19, unfortunately we lost it."

We emphasize the fact that the statement "The fight with Covid-19, unfortunately we have lost it!" is taken out of context, resulting in an impact headline, taken over by several press trusts, but which, according to what has been stated, is untrue."
