Coronavirus Romania Cases Cured October 19

The Coronavirus pandemic is accelerating at an alert pace in our country, and every day we see such high numbers reported by the authorities in Romania, that it becomes quite clear that the situation is extremely serious, even if today the numbers will be lower than before usually, because it's the weekend.

More and more people die as a result of infection with the new Coronavirus, more and more people are hospitalized in intensive care, over two-thirds of the total capacity is already occupied, and the situation will become more and more serious in the coming weeks, as the number of infections will grow.

In Bucharest, new drastic measures will be instituted in the next period due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and things could continue in other areas of the country because the authorities are no longer able to convince people to protect themselves against a possible infection, unfortunately.

"Until today, October 19, on the territory of Romania, 182.854 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

132.082 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 2.466 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, per 1.000 inhabitants, calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties is as follows:

Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 322 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

To date, 5.931 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.

Between 18.10.2020 (10:00) and 19.10.2020 (10:00) 59 deaths (26 men and 33 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, Arad, Argeș, were reported , Bacău, Bihor, Brăila, Călăraşi, Caraş-Severin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Iași, Maramureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vaslui, Vrancea and the City of Bucharest.

Of these, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 40-49 years, 6 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 18 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 22 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 11 deaths in the over 80 category.

All registered deaths are of patients who had comorbidities.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 10.296. Of these, 757 are hospitalized at ATI.

Up to this date, at the national level, 2.860.226 tests have been processed. Of these, 8.040 were performed in the last 24 hours, 5.681 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 2.359 on request.

On the territory of Romania, 20.968 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 9.678 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 47.407 people are in home quarantine, and 48 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 1.227 calls were made to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 7.084 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 1.497.210 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday, 12 crimes were detected for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.

The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for verification of the reported aspects.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, 6.829 Romanian citizens have been confirmed as infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1.917 in Italy, 1.253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3.013 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain , 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 122 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 7 in the United Arab Emirates and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of Congo, Qatar, Vatican and Portugal . From the beginning of the epidemic of COVID-19 (coronavirus) until this moment, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, have died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia."
