Next week we will more than likely see new records of infections in Romania due to the Coronavirus, and it is possible to even reach 8000 new cases reported daily, especially since the testing capacity has been increased to 50.000 samples daily, by much over the 36.000 now.
5753 new cases were confirmed by the Romanian authorities in the last 24 hours.
"Until today, October 31, on the territory of Romania, 241.339 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
172.513 patients were declared cured.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 5.753 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. Until today, 6.968 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
Between 30.10.2020 (10:00) and 31.10.2020 (10:00) 101 deaths (63 men and 38 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, Argeș, Bacău, were reported. Bihor, Bistrita-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Calarasi, Caraș-Severin, Constanta, Dolj, Galati, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iasi, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Prahova, Sălaj, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiş , Vâlcea, Vaslui, Vrancea and the Municipality of Bucharest.
Of these, 1 death was registered in the 20-29 age category, 4 deaths were registered in the 40-49 age category, 10 deaths in the 50-59 age category, 22 deaths in the 60 age category -69 years, 33 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 31 deaths in the category over 80 years.
92 of the registered deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, and for 9 deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported to date.
In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 11.254. Of these, 923 are hospitalized at ATI.
Up to this date, at the national level, 3.242.748 tests have been processed. Of these, 36.181 were performed in the last 24 hours, 20.708 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 15.473 on request.
On the territory of Romania, 28.797 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 10.860 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 54.373 people are in home quarantine, and 15 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 2.957 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 857 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 6.286 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 942.740 lei.
Also, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday, 8 crimes were detected for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for verification of the reported aspects.
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, 6.852 Romanian citizens have been confirmed to be infected with SARS-CoV-2 (coronavirus): 1.934 in Italy, 1.253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3.018 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain, 36 in Hungary, 28 in Holland, 2 in Namibia, 4 in USA, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus , 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 7 in the United Arab Emirates and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of Congo, Qatar, Vatican and Portugal. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and up to this moment, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the US, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, have died."
