Yesterday, not many new cases were registered because few tests were done, but a very large number of deaths was announced for Romania, and a new record of people hospitalized in intensive care was announced, which continues to be a very big problem, unfortunately.

Considering that in recent months many new infections have been announced by the authorities in Romania, it is easy to understand why we will see more and more deaths, and more and more people hospitalized in intensive care, since yesterday the authorities imposed new restrictions in our country, and preparing to extend the state of alert.

"Until today, November 10, on the territory of Romania, 314.295 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

211.408 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 7.304 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. *Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

 

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 1.682 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

Until today, 8.186 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

In the interval 09.11.2020 (10:00) - 10.11.2020 (10:00) 177 deaths (92 men and 85 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in hospitals in Alba, Arad, Argeș were reported , Bacău, Bihor, Bistrita-Năsăud, Botoşani, Braşov, Buzău, Calarasi, Caraş-Severin, Constanța, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Gorj, Harghita, Ialomița, Iasi, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Satu-Mare, Sibiu , Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Tulcea, Vâlcea, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and the Municipality of Bucharest.

Of these, 3 deaths were registered in the age category 30-39 years, 6 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 12 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 47 deaths in the age category 60- 69 years, 67 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 42 deaths in the category over 80 years.

160 of the registered deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, and for 17 deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 12.727. Of these, 1.093 are hospitalized at ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 3.519.095 tests have been processed. Of these, 31.005 were performed in the last 24 hours, 18.988 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 12.017 on request.

On the territory of Romania, 41.272 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 12.767 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 81.518 people are in home quarantine, and 19 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 5.031 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 1.234 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on November 9 this year, 7.927 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 1.111.531 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday, 4 crimes were detected for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
