Vodafone Announces Financial Results for Q3 2020 in Romania

Vodafone announced the financial results for Q3 2020 in Romania, and below you can see how well the telecommunications operator's business went in our country during the Coronavirus pandemic.

"Bucharest, November 16, 2020 – Vodafone Romania announces the main financial indicators for the quarter ended on September 30, 2020, according to the results reported today by Vodafone Group Plc.

Vodafone Romania continues to record good performances, despite the difficult context in the quarter ended on September 30, 2020.

Revenues from services are at the value of 195,1 million euros and continue to be stable on a quarterly basis. Compared to the same period last year, the revenues from reported services registered a decrease of 2.3%.

Vodafone Romania's customer base reached 10,798,349 customers on September 30, 2020.

Murielle Lorilloux, Vodafone Romania CEO: "In the previous quarter, we focused even more on the contribution brought to reduce the digital gap, which has dramatic consequences in key areas, such as education, which can now be seen so clearly in the context of the pandemic in where we are. Every student must have access to the necessary tools, so that they can benefit from digital education and we are committed to making this possible. It takes a lot of effort, but I believe that if we act together we can achieve great things. Our support for education has included several initiatives in recent months. Through the "Together we leave no student behind" campaign, we managed to reach an amount of almost 200.000 euros, with the support of the Vodafone Romania Foundation, which doubled the collected donations. These funds are used for the new beneficiaries of the "Scoala din valisa" educational program, who will thus have tablets and communication services that will allow them to continue learning. In parallel, we continued to expand the "School from the suitcase" program to several rural schools, developing communication solutions, as well as by providing equipment and learning solutions for students and teachers. We will also provide over 100.000 tablets with mobile communication services in the auction launched by the Ministry of Education.

This quarter, we marked a new stage in our journey to become a convergent operator by launching the innovative Vodafone TV service and the new fixed and mobile service offers. Now, Romanians have the opportunity to enjoy the most extensive grid of linear TV programs and the most comprehensive video on demand library through the first 4K media box on the market. Customers can benefit from perfect interactivity between devices, which ensures flexibility and a true multi-screen experience for users, but also advanced functions that allow them to choose when and where to watch their favorite programs or control the content they follow, including live TV shows.

We will continue our mission to contribute to the development of digital Romania and to create a better connected and more resilient future. Personally, I believe that everyone, from companies to authorities, must continue to act with determination to overcome this pandemic crisis and work together to rebuild Romania."
