Coronavirus Romania: New Cases, Healings on December 17, 2020

Coronavirus Romania Cases Healing December 17

The evolution of the Coronavirus pandemic in Romania continues to be a strong one in our country, and this is because of the very large number of infections that have been confirmed so far by the authorities based on the fewer and fewer tests that are being done.

The past few days there was a new very large number of deaths generated by the Coronavirus pandemic, close to the record from the beginning of the month, and there are still many people hospitalized in intensive care, these figures being in constant dynamics.

The authorities in Romania do not want to impose new restrictive measures for citizens from all over the country, but want to keep things at the current stage, without imposing relaxations, but the Coronavirus pandemic remains a big problem for us.

"Until today, December 17, on the territory of Romania, 577.446 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

477.139 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 5.697 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
