Coronavirus Romania: New Cases Announced on January 1, 2021

Coronavirus Romania New Cases January 1, 2021

The year 2021 begins with a new report on the cases of Coronavirus detected following the PCR tests carried out in Romania for people who have symptoms of infection, and we see a small number because yesterday was a short working day in the laboratories.

On the other hand, unfortunately we see that there are still a lot of deaths, and a lot of people hospitalized in intensive care, these numbers still remain extremely high in our country, and this will not change soon, unfortunately.

The authorities in Romania continue to insist on compliance with the preventive measures against the Coronavirus, and continue the vaccination process, which is accelerated, the numbers increasing substantially from one day to the next, which is normal for this whole process.

Until today, January 1, on the territory of Romania, 636.201 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

566.365 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 3.938 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. *Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
