Vodafone has millions of customers from all over Romania targeted by an official announcement from the authorities in our country, coming as part of changes that are taking place at the European level from January 1, for all telecommunications operators. More precisely, those from ANCOM say that customers from Vodafone will also benefit from an increase in the internet traffic allocated for them in roaming as part of their subscriptions, or options for cards, the roaming surcharge also being lower.

Vodafone will impose a surcharge of only 3 euros, without VAT, for each GB of internet consumed in roaming by customers, the tariff decreasing from the value of 3.5 euros, which was until January 1, 2021. The discount is 14%, and it applies to any of the EEA countries, it being imposed at the European level, including for the other telecommunications operators in our country, not only for Vodafone, but it comes as a welcome change for many people.

Vodafone the volume of internet traffic for subscriptions and prepaid extra options will also have to increase as part of this change, ANCOM saying that it would be an average of 17% for all operators. Practically, depending on everyone's subscription or prepay extra option, the internet traffic allocated for roaming should be 17% higher starting from January 1, 2021, and this should already be seen in the consumption information.

Vodafone has the obligation to have already made these changes for its customers from all over Romania, together with a decrease in the surcharge for phone calls received in roaming, by 4%, here the difference is insignificant. Even so, the changes imposed for Roam like at Home are some intended to further reduce customers' expenses, and Vodafone must comply with these provisions of the authorities, as do the other operators.

Vodafone may start sending SMS notifications to customers regarding this change, but has not yet published any official information regarding these changes.
