Telekom has millions of customers from all over Romania affected by an extremely important change in 2021, here's what's going to happen, and how important it is.

telecom transition

Telekom enters the year 2021 awaiting the approval of a very important plan that will also bring a very big change for millions of customers from all over Romania, it being officially announced since last year. More precisely, last year the sale of the fixed services division of Telekom to Orange was officially announced, in a transaction worth hundreds of millions of euros, but subject to approval by the European Commission, on the one hand, and the Council The competition, on the other hand.

Telekom it is now waiting for the agreement from the European Commission to be able to transfer everything to Orange, and we are talking about millions of customers, plus a very large infrastructure throughout Romania. The transaction is the most important on the Romanian market since Telekom bought Cosmote and Romtelecom, and now we are talking about the same German group involved in the sale of half of the business it currently has in Romania.

Telekom: 2021 and the Big CHANGE for MILLIONS of Customers

Telekom will remain with the mobile services division, that is, all customers who enjoy mobile telephony services will remain with the parent company in the future, and this is because no buyer was found for this division. Those who are part of the fixed services division will reach Orange, but initially they will not feel the change, but most likely they will be removed from the Telekom branding until the end of 2021, or in 2022, depending on when they will the approvals come.

Telekom searched for a good period of time for a buyer for both divisions it has in Romania, and in the end found only the one for fixed services, but the choice of Orange is a beneficial one for customers. Those from Orange have better services than Telekom, in general, so all customers who will reach the French group should have a better experience, at least theoretically, but it is not excluded that the prices for services will increase .

Telekom had low prices for customers, Orange generally has higher prices, so it will be interesting to see what will happen after this transition to the new group is completed.
