Romania received today only another 90.000 doses of vaccine against the Coronavirus this very morning, they will be used to cover part of the more than 840.000 vaccination appointments made by Romanians.

You can see below how the vaccine doses were distributed in our country, but to cover the appointments made so far, Romania needs over 1.7 million doses in the last month and a half, but it remains to be seen if it will receive them.

"The sixth tranche of Pfizer BioNTech vaccine arrives in the country tomorrow
Tomorrow, January 25, the sixth tranche of vaccine from Pfizer BioNTech will arrive in Romania, which consists of 92.430 doses, by air, at the airports of Otopeni, Cluj-Napoca and Timișoara.
Transport to the storage centers is provided by the production company, including by land. Vaccines are transported in optimal safety conditions, in special containers, with carbonic ice and airtight foil.
Thus, the vaccination process continues both in the centers in Bucharest and in the country, with 92.430 doses of Pfizer BioNTech distributed, as follows:
– Bucharest Regional Distribution Center: 35.100 doses;
– Regional Distribution Center Brașov: 11.700 doses;
– Cluj Regional Distribution Center: 10.530 doses;
– Constanța Regional Distribution Center: 9.360 doses;
– Regional Distribution Center Craiova: 7.020 doses;
– Iași Regional Distribution Center: 11.700 doses;
– Timișoara Regional Distribution Center: 7.020 doses.
In the vaccination centers, both doses received by Romania in the current tranche and in the previous tranches will be used, based on the requests sent to the National Center and the regional storage centers, through the county and Bucharest public health departments.
According to the delivery schedule, the next installment of the vaccine should be brought to Romania on Tuesday, January 26, and at this moment official confirmation in this regard is expected from the producing company.
We remind you that on January 15, Stage II of the vaccination campaign began, aimed at people over 65 years old, people with chronic diseases, regardless of age, as well as key personnel who carry out activities in essential fields.

In Romania, the allocation of vaccine doses is carried out according to the delivery schedule provided by the manufacturing company, meaning that, weekly, our country receives the vaccine installments necessary to immunize the population. As the new tranches arrive in Romania, the programming application is updated and allows the continuation of the programming process for the population categories in the current stage.
Regarding the timing of the delivery of the doses, Pfizer has announced a return to the original schedule of deliveries to the European Union starting on January 25th and will increase the number of doses around February 15th."
