OPPO Sets a New Standard in the Smartphone Industry

OPPO announced today the establishment of a new standard in the smartphone industry with an important innovation regarding the resolution and accuracy of the devices' screens, but also the camera capabilities.

"OPPO, a world leader in technology, continues to innovate in screen resolution and accuracy, as well as camera capabilities to capture shades as close to reality as possible, releasing some of the most advanced screens in the smartphone industry. These are especially found in the case of the Find X series, which, since the first model, has pushed the limits of the industry at the time, and with the new Find X3, it will revolutionize the industry by launching the spectrum of 1 billion colors.

OPPO Find X2, the basis of the excellence of the Find X3 screen

OPPO Find X2 was the first smartphone to simultaneously offer a QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate with extraordinary color accuracy. Today, almost a year later, the legacy left lives on and is the foundation of the Find X3 series.

OPPO Find X2 brings all the content displayed to life, whether it's capturing a fascinating image, enjoying ColorOS features or watching an HDR video, the OPPO Ultra Vision screen is clear, smooth, precise and comfortable.

The perfectly proportioned curved screen of 6.7 inches offers an immersive experience on another level. The slim front camera is discreetly placed in the screen bordered by thin edges.

OPPO Find X2 also became a landmark thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate, at a time when most terminals only supported 60Hz and 90Hz. The visible results were faster gaming, smoother social media browsing and an interface that feels like an extension of your fingers.

Of course, the content must be rendered in high clarity, and the resolution of 1440 x 3168 provides an extremely accurate image through a pixel density of 531 PPI. With 100% DCI-P3 extended color gamut compatibility, Find X2 reproduces even the finest gradients.

Advanced specifications are just one point in the development of the story behind a screen. Find X2 represents the first attempt of the OPPO brand and the entire industry to provide users with an advanced viewing experience. This model is among the first in the industry to feature a 10-bit or 1 billion color screen, which also represents a benchmark in hardware and software engineering. Also relying on professional color accuracy, OPPO's 2020 flagship has become the industry benchmark for color reproduction in 2021, with its qualities recognized by designers and professional photographers around the world.

1 billion colors

With the top-notch display and photography technologies available on the Find X2, OPPO has set a precedent for something incredible.

The development of the first Full-path 10-bit color management system, presented at the OPPO INNO DAY 2020 conference, represents the future of imaging excellence and experiencing a spectrum of 1 billion colors.

Full-path 10-bit color system is the first Android smartphone system that can represent DCI-P3 extended color gamut throughout the process from image recording, storage and playback to provide users with a complete experience.

This is possible thanks to the improvement of the microprocessor responsible for color reproduction and the improvement of imaging algorithms.

High color accuracy, comparable to that of professional cameras, can be achieved thanks to OPPO's screen calibration technology and proprietary algorithm that guarantees compatibility of all shades, rendering all DCI-P3 colors with 10-bit depth.

Compared to 8-bit depth, 10-bit color reduces visual artifacts caused by color differences and accentuates tones, visibly improving image quality in both creation and playback.

The new professional image standard should also be mentioned. Half the size of a JPEG, the new HEIF format is part of the complete OPPO experience as it supports 10-bit storage.”
