The Ministry of Health announces to Romanians from all over the country that vaccination against the Coronavirus with the serum developed by Moderna will start on February 4, but only for almost 2 weeks because there are few doses received.

"Dr. Valeriu Gheorghiță, coordinator of the vaccination campaign against COVID-19:

From February 4, until February 16, vaccination with the Moderna vaccine will be carried out in all centers. Until February 2, Romania received 36.000 doses from the Moderna company, which is added to the 948.149 doses received until today from BioNTech Pfizer.

The European Medicines Agency has recommended granting conditional marketing authorization for the vaccine against COVID-19 developed by AstraZeneca. It is the third vaccine against COVID-19 authorized by the European Medicines Agency, which is to enter the portfolio of each member state, to be used in the vaccination campaign. Romania will receive 1,3 million doses of the vaccine developed by AstraZeneca.

180 new vaccination centers are planned to be opened in the idea of ​​using and distributing AstraZeneca's vaccine, so depending on the decision on who is eligible for this type of vaccine, new scheduling slots will be opened at the level national.
Romania is in 4th place in terms of the number of doses administered, with a coverage level of 3,75%, compared to an average of the European Union of around 2,95%."
