Romanian police announce sanctions

The Romanian Police published today a very important announcement regarding the large number of sanctions they applied due to non-compliance with the protective measures against the Coronavirus, which we see almost every day from the authorities in Romania.

The Romanian police are sent every day to detect people who do not respect these very serious measures, and unfortunately there are many people who do not respect them and endanger the lives of other people, the authorities trying to discover as many cases of this kind as possible.

"During Monday, February 15, this year, the staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with representatives of other institutions, participated in more than 1.400 actions to check how the measures to limit the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus were respected.

In this context, more than 66.000 people, more than 4.600 economic operators, approximately 150 transport operators and more than 9.100 points of interest, such as restaurants, terraces or fast foods, were checked.

In total, the mixed control teams applied 5.454 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of over 1.000.000 lei, the most frequent violations found being non-compliance with quarantine or isolation measures, not wearing a protective mask or for non-compliance with physical distancing.

Contraventions such as non-compliance with measures regarding the organization or participation in public or private events and non-compliance with restrictions on the movement of people were also sanctioned.

The forces engaged in the control missions were made up of approximately 17.000 policemen, gendarmes, border policemen, firefighters, local policemen, representatives of ANSVA, ANPC, employees of the Ministry of Health, of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, employees of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and representatives of local authorities.

Following the mentioned controls, the MAI staff drew up two criminal files for thwarting the fight against diseases.

The TELVERDE telephone line received 5 calls, which were directed for checks at the level of the municipality of Bucharest and 4 counties.

The MAI staff will continue the activities to prevent and combat the facts that favor the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus."
