The Romanian Police has published the sanctions it has applied in the last 24 hours for non-compliance with preventive measures against infection with the new Coronavirus, and below you can see exactly what was done throughout the country by the authorities.

"On Saturday, February 20, over 16.600 policemen, gendarmes, border police, firefighters, as well as employees from the National Veterinary Sanitary and Food Safety Authority, the National Consumer Protection Authority, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection , the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and representatives of local authorities carried out actions to verify the way in which health protection measures are respected.

Joint control teams handled 1.660 spot actions and 1.834 calls to SNUAU 112.
Thus, more than 5.188 economic operators, approximately 248 passenger transport operators, more than 9.661 points of interest, such as restaurants, terraces or fast foods, were checked. Also, more than 81.000 people were checked for compliance with the measures established in the context of COVID-19.
In total, 6.787 contraventional sanctions were applied, amounting to 1.448.650 lei.

The majority, namely 5.551 sanctions, concerned non-compliance with measures regarding quarantine/isolation, non-wearing of a protective mask or non-compliance with physical distancing, their amount being over 925.150 lei.

Also, approximately 1.225 contraventional sanctions were applied, in the amount of approximately 514.500 lei, for non-compliance by economic agents, public institutions or natural persons with the measures regarding the organization or participation in public or private events, the organization of the work schedule or the transport of persons or non-compliance with the restrictions on the movement of persons.

Also yesterday, the MAI staff drew up 2 criminal files for committing the crime of thwarting the fight against diseases.
13 calls were received at the TELVERDE telephone line, which were directed for checks at the level of the municipality of Bucharest and 8 counties.
MAI employees will also carry out control activities in the next period to prevent and combat the facts that favor the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus."
