Today, the Romanian Police made a very important announcement for millions of Romanians from all over the country, one that everyone should know about because it talks about the measures to supervise compliance with the preventive measures against infection with the new Coronavirus.

The Romanian Police used 17.700 employees of various institutions in Romania to check whether the preventive measures are respected or not, and it is good to know this, and to respect them, because the authorities are constantly monitoring everything.

"On Monday, February 22, more than 17.700 policemen, gendarmes, border policemen, firefighters, as well as employees from the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority, the National Authority for Consumer Protection, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Labor and Protection Social Affairs, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and representatives of local authorities have carried out 1.538 actions to check how health protection measures are respected.

Thus, more than 4.400 economic operators, 183 passenger transport operators and approximately 8.490 points of interest, such as restaurants, terraces or fast foods, were checked. Also, more than 86.000 people were checked.

In total, 5.528 contraventional sanctions were applied, amounting to 947.300 lei.

4.721 sanctions were applied for failure to comply with quarantine/isolation measures, failure to wear a protective mask or failure to comply with physical distancing.
At the same time, approximately 800 contraventional sanctions were applied for non-compliance by economic agents, public institutions or natural persons with the measures regarding the organization or participation in public or private events, the organization of the work schedule or the transport of people or non-compliance with restrictions on the movement of people.
Also yesterday, the MAI staff drew up four criminal files for committing the crime of thwarting the fight against diseases.

At the TELVERDE telephone line, where situations of non-compliance with sanitary protection measures can be reported, 10 calls were received, which were directed for checks at the level of the municipality of Bucharest and seven counties.

MAI employees will continue to carry out actions to prevent and combat activities that favor the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus."
