DIGI Mobile pioneer

DIGI Mobile, one of the largest telecommunications operators in the country with 3.6 million active customers at the moment, made an extremely important decision that has an impact for its subscribers, and not only. More precisely, those from DIGI Mobil have decided to continue the important investments in the telecommunications networks in Romania, so that the other days they announced a new update for the coverage they offer for almost all of its infrastructure.

DIGI Mobile he revealed everything through his website, here it shows us that on February 19 he updated the maps with the coverage for almost all the infrastructure, except for the 5G network. The people from DIGI Mobil have not made any investment for the 5G network in Romania for almost a year, on April 8, 12 months will be fulfilled since the last update regarding the coverage offered by the operator, and we are talking about a long period of time.

DIGI Mobil: IMPORTANT Decision, Impact on MILLIONS of Romanians

DIGI Mobile created the second 5G network in Romania in 2019, and in a very short time it reached the best coverage among all telecommunications operators operating in our country. This was not preserved, unfortunately, due to the fact that the Romanian authorities did not organize the auction for the frequencies dedicated to 5G networks, and so RCS & RDS decided not to make any more investments, although Orange and Vodafone continued with them.

DIGI Mobile however, it managed to increase to over 98% the coverage it has for the other telecommunications networks in the country, which represents a very important achievement, especially since it was an obligation imposed by ANCOM. The current situation has kind of stopped the plans of those from DIGI Mobil regarding investments in the 5G telecommunications infrastructure, but it is expected that this will change completely in 2021, after the 5G frequencies will be auctioned.

DIGI Mobile surprised with the speed with which it expanded its 5G network in Romania in 2019 and 2020, and in 2021 it could steal from Orange the title of the operator with the most extensive 5G coverage.
