Coronavirus Romania Cases Cured February 24

Yesterday there was a first significant increase in new cases of infection with the Coronavirus, and we are talking about a jump of approximately 20% compared to the previous week, and here we could see for the first time the effects of the reopening of schools.

The number of patients hospitalized in intensive care is still high, and unfortunately yesterday there was also a very large number of deaths, over 100 after a very long period of time, this being a sign that the situation may worsen.

The vaccination campaign against the Coronavirus continues at a brisk pace, but it may need to be accelerated because the British strain is beginning to be present in more and more areas of our country, unfortunately.

"Until today, February 24, on the territory of Romania, 788.048 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed. 731.049 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 3.337 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 710 people were reconfirmed positive.

Until today, 20.086 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 23.02.2021 (10:00) – 24.02.2021 (10:00) 73 deaths (41 men and 32 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in hospitals in Arad, Bacău, Botoșani, Brașov, Brăila, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Galati, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mureș, Neamț, Olt, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman and Timiș.

Of these, 2 deaths were registered in the age category 40-49 years, 6 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 22 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 20 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 23 deaths in the over 80 category.

71 of the registered deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, and 2 deceased patients did not present comorbidities.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.542. Of these, 969 are hospitalized at ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 5.961.208 RT-PCR tests and 270.740 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 26.447 RT-PCR tests (17.019 based on case definition and medical protocol and 9.428 on request) and 7.917 rapid antigen tests were performed.

On the territory of Romania, 38.875 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 10.818 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 52.770 people are in home quarantine, and 141 people are in institutionalized quarantine."
