Coronavirus Romania New Cases, Cures OFFICIALLY Announced on March 1, 2021

Last week brought us increases of up to 50% for the daily number of cases compared to the previous week, so that now a lot of people are wondering if the situation will repeat itself, and the pandemic will intensify from this point of view .

The number of people admitted to ATI, and of deaths, remains high, and this situation will most likely not change soon due to the fact that there are more and more new cases reported daily, and this is their effect.

The vaccinations did not go as fast as everyone expected, and this is because there are problems regarding the number of doses available, but in March and April we should receive much more than so far, and the number of vaccinations to grow.

"Until today, March 1, on the territory of Romania, 804.090 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

741.471 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 2.096 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 456 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

Until today, 20.403 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 28.02.2021 (10:00) – 01.03.2021 (10:00) 53 deaths (29 men and 24 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Argeș, Arad, Bacău, were reported , Bihor, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dolj, Gorj, Iasi, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 2 deaths were registered in the age category 40-49 years, 4 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 17 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 16 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 14 deaths in the over 80 category.

47 of the recorded deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, 5 deceased patients did not present comorbidities, and for 1 deceased patient no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 8.334. Of these, 1.022 are hospitalized at ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 6.029.263 RT-PCR tests and 305.637 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 6.616 RT-PCR tests were performed (4.431 based on case definition and medical protocol and 2.185 on request) and 4.977 rapid antigen tests.

On the territory of Romania, 40.955 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 12.014 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 48.932 people are in home quarantine, and 130 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

 

In the last 24 hours, 2.146 calls were made to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on February 28, 6.665 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 1.373.650 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 5 criminal files were drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code."
