Raed Arafat Wave 3 Begins ATI Inpatients

Raed Arafat spoke these days about a very serious problem facing Romania at the moment, more precisely the fact that the third wave of the Coronavirus pandemic began with many Romanians hospitalized in intensive care.

Raed Arafat says that over 900 Romanians were admitted to intensive care at the time when the third wave started in Romania, and now we are talking about almost 1300, the numbers are continuously increasing at the moment, unfortunately for all of us.

"It is a very good thing that a large part of Romanians wants to get vaccinated. Leaving aside the discussion on the lot in AstraZeneca, vaccination is the solution to increase immunity. We have not yet reached a number of people vaccinated to say that it has an impact on the spread of the virus.

The downside is that there are more people in Intensive Care than at the beginning of the last wave. We do not move the devices, but the secondment of doctors does not make any sense, and the transfer of patients is done when we find a place in another locality. It's a dynamic. As places become available, patients are transferred and admitted. The way things are going, we expect there to be pressure, that's why the prime minister asked for an increase in the number of beds."
