Coronavirus Large Number of New Cases on March 29, 2021

The number of new cases of Coronavirus remains very high in Romania, an extremely serious problem that the authorities in our country still do not know how to solve, and it is expected that things will continue during this period.

The number of people hospitalized in intensive care has reached 1400, an extremely high figure, and Raed Arafat says that it is extremely difficult for the number of beds to be increased beyond the existing one, that is, somewhere around 1500, while the number of deaths is still increasing.

The only good news is that we see that the high pace of the vaccination campaign in Romania is maintained, more and more people are being immunized against the Coronavirus every day, and we can expect that the number of doses administered daily will increase constantly.

"Until today, March 29, on the territory of Romania, 940.443 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

840.127 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 3.825 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Until today, 23.234 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 28.03.2021 (10:00) and 29.03.2021 (10:00) 120 deaths (69 men and 51 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, Arad, Bacău, were reported . Ilfov and the Municipality of Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was registered in the age category 30-39 years, 4 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 14 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 30 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 42 deaths in the 70-79 age category and 29 deaths in the over 80 age category.

111 of the registered deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, and for 9 deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 13.185. Of these, 1.398 are hospitalized at ATI. 

Until this date, at the national level, 6.658.431 RT-PCR tests and 577.996 rapid antigenic tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 8.353 RT-PCR tests were performed (6.323 based on case definition and medical protocol and 2.030 on request) and 6.002 rapid antigen tests.

On the territory of Romania, 70.082 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 16.321 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 52.823 people are in home quarantine, and 104 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 3.506 calls were made to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on March 28, 10.131 contraventional sanctions, worth 2.277.966 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, a criminal file was drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.
