Orange is the largest telecommunications operator in Romania at the moment, with over 10 million Romanians using its services throughout the country, and recently a serious attack on DIGI Mobil was launched. More precisely, those from Orange announced that they were certified as having the most extensive and best performing 5G mobile network in Romania, surpassing those from DIGI Mobil in terms of coverage, and this after a year in which RCS & RDS no longer invested in 5G.

Orange boasts of this certification obtained at the end of 2020 following an audit carried out in our country by a company specialized in such types of checks, and the situation is very interesting. Those from Orange have invested a lot in the expansion of the 5G network in Romania, having 5G stations in two more towns than those from DIGI Mobil, but the big advantage is given by the fact that they offer internet browsing speeds that are clearly superior.

Orange offers Internet browsing speeds of up to 5 Gbps through its 1.2G network, while DIGI Mobil offers somewhere around half that through its 5G stations throughout the country. The differences are very big between the two telecommunications operators, but this should not be a big surprise, those from Orange having more money to invest in the 5G network than DIGI Mobil, so we also see the results of this money allocated for infrastructure.

Orange is the only telecommunications operator that provides 5% 100G coverage for Bucharest, even though Vodafone was the first to launch a 5G network in the capital, and those from DIGI Mobil followed. Orange did not hurry with the launch of a 5G network, being the third major operator to do so, but it invested more than the others, so that it now has the best infrastructure of its kind in our country, a major achievement.

Orange will continue to invest in its 5G network in Romania, so it remains to be seen how competing operators will react in this constant battle between them.
