The number of new cases of Coronavirus continues to increase, more easily than in the past weeks, but even so, everything remains at a high value at the moment, and the prospects, unfortunately, are not positive ones, and this is because the large number of previous infections.

Unfortunately, in the intensive care unit, the previous record for the number of people hospitalized after infection with the new Coronavirus was exceeded, and the number of deaths continues to be high, still over 100 per day, the situation being extremely serious throughout the country.

The only good news continues to come from the vaccination campaign against the Coronavirus in Romania, and that's because yesterday we had a new record, of 64.000 people immunized in just 24 hours in our country, so it's good that this is happening now.

"Until today, March 31, on the territory of Romania, 952.803 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

850.672 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 6.156 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Until today, 23.538 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 30.03.2021 (10:00) - 31.03.2021 (10:00) 129 deaths (70 men and 59 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, Arad, Argeș, were reported , Bacău, Bihor, Bistrita-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galati, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Maramureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and the City of Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was registered in the age category 30-39 years, 6 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 12 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 39 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 40 deaths in the 70-79 age category and 31 deaths in the over 80 age category.

126 of the recorded deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, 2 deceased patients did not present comorbidities, and for 1 deceased patient no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 13.248. Of these, 1.412 are hospitalized at ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 6.714.704 RT-PCR tests and 603.664 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 28.983 RT-PCR tests (19.008 based on case definition and medical protocol and 9.975 on request) and 12.515 rapid antigen tests were performed.

Also, since the last information provided by the GCS, the results of 56 RT-PCR tests, processed before the last 24 hours and transmitted until March 31, have been reported

On the territory of Romania, 69.377 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 16.472 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 49.682 people are in home quarantine, and 105 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 5.134 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 659 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on March 30, 7.082 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 1.985.005 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 7 criminal files were drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 of the Criminal Code and 5 criminal cases for false declarations.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
