Romanian Police: How Many Fines Have Been Applied in the Last 24 Hours Due to COVID-19

Romanian police fines covid-19 24 hours

The Romanian Police continues to be very vigilant when it comes to the Coronavirus pandemic, so in the last 24 hours it has applied a very large number of fines throughout the country, one that should show us how little the rules are respected by everyone, unfortunately.

The Romanian Police imposes thousands, over thousands, of fines every day throughout Romania, over 150.000 fines are applied monthly due to the Coronavirus alone, which should bring huge sums to the state budget, of course, only if they are collected by authorities at a given time.

"In the last 24 hours, 3.080 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 591 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on April 15, 5.115 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 916.022 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 4 criminal files were drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported."
