Coronavirus Romania: New Number of Cases from May 7, 2021

Coronavirus Romania Number of Cases May 7, 2021
The new report on confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Romania on May 7, 2021.

The authorities in Romania published today a new information regarding the evolution of the Coronavirus pandemic in our country, and we see again a reduced number of cases, something that will continue to happen in the last weeks as the situation has gotten better.

The number of deaths is also decreasing, as is the number of intensive care beds occupied by patients infected with the new Coronavirus, but this does not mean that all the trouble has already passed, so a lot of vigilance is still needed.

Yesterday we recorded an important record in the vaccination campaign, with over 100.000 people immunized in just 24 hours, and in the following period things should proceed in a similar manner, perhaps with even more vaccinations done daily.

"Until today, May 7, on the territory of Romania, 1.063.949 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

1.009.237 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1.422 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
