RCS & RDS: The Official Announcement, What Many Romanians Didn't Know

RCS & RDS output

RCS & RDS has millions of customers throughout the country, and is one of the largest telecommunications operators in all of Romania, the company having one of the most aggressive competition policies on the market. RCS & RDS is so aggressive with the prices it charges for services, but also with the strategy of attracting customers that it managed to force the partial exit from our country of the subsidiary of a giant in the field of telecommunications from Europe.

RCS & RDS, according to a new member of the board of directors of Deutsche Telekom Europa, generated such fierce competition in Romania that the operator preferred to sell its fixed services division rather than invest in it. RCS & RDS, as we have already told you repeatedly, has a modern fixed infrastructure with very good performance, especially on the Internet side, and it turns out to be so good that Telekom preferred to avoid direct competition .

RCS & RDS: The Official Announcement, What Many Romanians Didn't Know

RCS & RDS has invested a lot of money in its fiber optic infrastructure throughout Romania, providing internet and television services for millions of Romanians throughout the country. Telekom also has a vast, but probably older, not fully updated fiber optic infrastructure, and the low prices of RCS & RDS have forced the German group to have a similar pricing policy, which probably does not generate the revenues desired by the company.

Through its development strategy, RCS & RDS managed to become a huge force in Romania, and apart from Telekom, there is no other telecommunications group that can seriously compete with the Romanian company. Orange will now take over the baton from Telekom, and Vodafone has huge investments to make to catch up, the purchase of UPC being only a first step to become a serious competitor on the fixed services market in Romania.

RCS & RDS compensates with the infrastructure of fixed services the lacks of the infrastructure of mobile services, and it can be seen that its strategies applied over the years really bear fruit.
