Valeriu Gheorghita: Program and Activity Changes in Vaccination Centers

Valeriu Gheorghita announced that he asked for a reevaluation of the activity of some vaccination centers in Romania, and this is because there are many that operate at less than 50% of the activity, so that what they actually do will be reconsidered.

Valeriu Gheorghita says that some vaccination centers will have a reduced schedule, while others will have their medical teams transformed into mobile vaccination teams so that people from several areas of the country can be immunized.

"I would like to tell you that I made an assessment, with the help of colleagues from CNCAV, of the activity and efficiency of the vaccination centers from the 1.499 streams, that is, over 996 vaccination centers. 45% of these centers have medium and low activity, meaning they vaccinate below 50% of flow capacity. As such, in order to optimize the activity of the vaccination centers, yesterday I sent an address to all the County Public Health Directorates and of the Bucharest municipality asking for the re-evaluation of the activity of the vaccination centers, with several proposals.

On the one hand, either reducing the working hours in those centers and setting up mobile teams to vaccinate either in door-to-door vaccination activities, particularly in rural areas, or other types of vaccination activities which entails the movement of mobile teams or to certain centers that no longer have addressability, even the temporary suspension of their activity, precisely in order to be efficient in terms of vaccinated persons, respectively costs."
