The Government of Romania Start of the City Vaccinates the Village Program

The Romanian government has officially announced that the City Vaccinates the Village program will be launched, one that was thought some time ago by the authorities in our country to increase the rate of vaccinations throughout the country.

The Romanian government says that this plan will be implemented from next week after the number of vaccinations among Romanians has dropped substantially in recent weeks, so a major change in direction is needed.

"Valeriu Gheorghiţă, coordinator of the vaccination campaign: The authorities will implement, starting next week, an action plan for the development of the concept 'The city vaccinates the village', aiming at the presence of vaccination teams in 2.862 communes by the end of July. The action plan will also be published on the vaccinare-covid.gov.ro platform and will be officially communicated to the local authorities, in order to know the calendar of activities.

Andrei Baciu, CNCAV vice-president: Romania is on schedule with the procedures for implementing the digital green certificate starting July 1. The European regulation that provides for the introduction of this certificate entered into force today, after publication in the Official Journal of the EU, and the Government will adopt the normative acts necessary for its implementation. Currently, work is being done on the computer platform, from where the digital certificates will be downloadable.

Also, following the completion of the evaluation of the effectiveness of the vaccination centers, the coordinator of the vaccination campaign proposed a series of measures for a better coordination of resources in these centers.
