Romania Donated 500.000 Vaccine Doses to the Republic of Moldova

Romania has donated no less than 500.000 doses of vaccine against the Coronavirus to the Republic of Moldova until now, the most recent tranche being 100.620 doses, and this aid will continue in the coming months from our country.

"I had the honor to participate in Chisinau, together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Bogdan Aurescu, at the ceremony of granting a new humanitarian aid to the Republic of Moldova from Romania. 100.620 doses of the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine will reach the centers across the Prut, so that Moldovan citizens can benefit from the protection offered by these sera.
I am glad that there is continuity, and Romania is with the Chisinau authorities, doctors and citizens. We fought together in hospitals and it was our concern to know that those on the front lines were safe. Last year we managed to send protective medical equipment and medicines to the Republic of Moldova.
After the meeting between President Klaus Iohannis and Mrs. President Maia Sandu at the end of last year, the Bucharest authorities have shown that they want to support the Republic of Moldova in the process of starting the vaccination campaign. Since then we have delivered more than 500.000 doses of the anti-covid vaccine and we want citizens to get vaccinated in as large a number as possible and put an end to this unpleasant chapter in our lives.
We know that vaccination is the only method that will allow us to end this period, and vaccines are safe and effective!
Romania and the European Union will continue to support with maximum solidarity all the steps taken by the Republic of Moldova to protect its citizens."
