Planet Saturn: The INCREDIBLE Announcement that Seemed Totally Impossible

The planet Saturn is a snake

The planet Saturn is again in the center of attention today after an incredible announcement from scientists, who revealed something that seemed completely impossible, but which in the end seems to turn into reality. More precisely, the moon Enceladus next to the planet Saturn could be explored by those from NASA using a new type of robot in the shape of a snake, something that was not believed to be possible by many scientists, but reality shows us something else.

The planet Saturn is at the center of at least one mission that is in full preparation for launch at the moment, and this new revelation completely changes the perspective on what can be discovered. You can see in the image below what this special robot looks like, which has been in development for years, it is made of artificial joints and allows movement on any kind of surface, including the one on the moon Enceladus near the planet Saturn.

Planet Saturn: The INCREDIBLE Announcement that Seemed Totally Impossible

The planet Saturn cannot have its surface explored because no spacecraft can pass the atmosphere, but in the case of the moon Enceladus, things are completely different, especially since part of the surface is frozen. This snake-shaped robot could crawl to penetrate through very narrow spaces that are normally not accessible to other larger robots, and thus the moon Enceladus near the planet Saturn could also have areas of the interior discovered.

"A snake-like robot made of giant screws and flexible joints that can travel on hard or loose surfaces and worm through tiny spaces like tubes and tunnels may be the key to exploring the interior of Saturn's icy moon Enceladus. While wheels or legs can traverse terrain more efficiently, snake robots have several advantages. They can conform to tight bends, and their small cross-section allows them to fit through tight spaces that would block other robot designs.”

The planet Saturn has not yet explored the surface of any moon, but this robot called ARCSnake could reveal many of the secrets of the moon Enceladus through a completely new exploration method. Of course, it will have to be tested until the NASA mission to the moon Enceladus near the planet Saturn is ready to be sent, but it could be a very good solution to discover more of the secrets hidden under the surface.

The planet Saturn is currently no longer flown by any space probe, but it is expected that the next mission of those from NASA will begin in the coming years and reveal many new secrets.
