In February, Facebook started a campaign to remove political content from the News Feed, and now it announces how everything will evolve so that people see even less information with political content within the social network.
Facebook extends to 4 more countries the changes intended to remove political content from the News Feed, the American company having very big problems because of it in recent years, so it wants to make the social media platform irrelevant for politicians all over the world.
Facebook doesn't really have a way to control the political content that various people publish on the social network, so it decided to hide it from the News Feed to force people to focus on other types of content on the platform.
“Some engagement signals can better indicate which posts people find more valuable than others. Based on this feedback, we're gradually expanding some tests to put less emphasis on signals like how likely someone is to comment or share political content.
Facebook will weigh more heavily on signals like "how likely people are to give us negative feedback on posts about political topics and current events."
