Planet Mars: HISTORIC Discovery, Researchers Amazed

Planet Mars movement

The planet Mars has made a new historical discovery by NASA researchers, and this is because we are talking about an observation that until now no one has managed to do for the planet. More precisely, using the InSight robot, located on the surface of the planet Mars, those from NASA have managed to detect the most powerful earthquakes to date that have occurred on the surface of the cosmic body, and this is a historic discovery made by scientists .

On August 25, the planet Mars generated two earthquakes with a magnitude of 4.2 and 4.1 degrees on the Richter scale, but on September 18 it detected another one of approximately 4.2 degrees. The most unexpected part is that in the case of the last earthquake recorded on the planet Mars, we are talking about a duration of 90 minutes, a very long one for any kind of earthquake, especially those that have been recorded until now on Earth.

In 2019, the planet Mars had the last strong earthquakes recorded, but then it was about some that had 3.7 degrees on the Richter scale, so in this situation we are talking about movements 5 times stronger. The earthquake that was registered on September 18 took place approximately 8500 kilometers away from the location where the InSight robot is located on the planet Mars, being the farthest detected by it so far.

"Even after more than two years, Mars seems to have given us something new with these two earthquakes, which have unique characteristics. If we hadn't acted quickly earlier this year, we may have missed out on some great science."

The planet Mars also had these earthquakes detected and of different frequencies, which of course is not exactly normal even for the recordings made on Earth, but things are very different there. The InSight probe also had a series of serious problems with the energy level available to monitor more closely what is happening on the planet Mars, but things were resolved quickly enough for the observation process to continue without problems.

The planet Mars will continue to be monitored by the InSight probe, so it remains to be seen what major news will be discovered by scientists in the coming years.
