Coronavirus Romania New Number of New Cases from September 28, 2021

A new huge increase in new cases of the Coronavirus is registered in Romania today as the authorities expect to reach 12.000 new daily cases this week due to the uncontrolled spread of the Delta variant in the country.

In hospitals, the situation is dramatic in certain areas with the intensive care beds fully occupied at the moment, while more and more people are being admitted to the normal beds, the situations being increasingly difficult to manage in many areas.

The vaccination campaign is still starting to move in the right direction at the moment, and this is because more and more people are starting to be immunized, but a huge increase is needed so that the 4th wave of infections can be stopped as quickly as possible.

"Until today, September 28, 1.210.810 cases of infection with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been registered on the territory of Romania, of which 1.129 are of re-infected patients, tested positive more than 180 days after the first infection .

1.104.496 patients were declared cured.

In the last 24 hours, 11.049 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID -19) were registered, of which 182 are of re-infected patients, tested positive more than 180 days after the first infection .

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Until today, 36.658 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 27.09.2021 (10:00) – 28.09.2021 (10:00) 208 deaths (99 men and 109 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, were reported by the INSP . , Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vâlcea, Vrancea and the City of Bucharest.

Among the 208 deaths, 1 was registered in the age category 20-29 years, 2 in the age category 30-39 years, 6 in the age category 40-49 years, 33 in the age category 50-59 years, 51 in age category 60-69 years, 64 in the age category 70-79 years and 51 in the age category over 80 years.

185 of the recorded deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, 13 deceased patients did not present comorbidities, and for 10 deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported to date.

No deaths prior to the reference interval were reported.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 11.431. Of these, 1.267 are hospitalized at ATI.

Out of the total of hospitalized patients, 306 are minors, 289 being hospitalized in wards and 17 in ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 9.557.974 RT-PCR tests and 3.160.043 rapid antigenic tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 25.282 RT-PCR tests (12.250 based on case definition and medical protocol and 13.032 on request) and 48.100 rapid antigen tests were performed.

On the territory of Romania, 54.953 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 10.066 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 61.743 people are in home quarantine, and 183 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 8.543 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 1.083 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on September 27, 1.253 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 261.500 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, a criminal file was drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (080080016) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
