A new number of new coronavirus infections has been officially announced for Romanians all over the country, and as you can see, we are talking about significant numbers that continue to show us the very serious situation in which our country is, unfortunately.

This large number of infections has also brought great problems to hospitals all over the country, some of them not having places for all the patients who need treatment during this period, while in others there are no more intensive care places for Romanians.

The vaccination campaign still seems to be going in the right direction at the moment, and that's because there are more and more daily vaccinations, which is excellent news, even if most of them are with dose 3 of the vaccine, not with prina, but the important thing is that they do.

Until today, October 10, 1.356.640 cases of infection with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been registered on the territory of Romania, of which 3.762 are of re-infected patients, tested positive more than 180 days after the first infection.

1.174.783 patients were declared cured.

In the last 24 hours, 10.400 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, of which 164 are re-infected patients, tested positive more than 180 days after the first infection.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

**As for cases from abroad, these are cases of citizens who came to Romania having been infected in other countries. These cases were included in the total of new cases not allocated by county.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 786 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

Until today, 39.420 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

In the interval 09.10.2021 (10:00) – 10.10.2021 (10:00) 211 deaths (99 men and 112 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, Arad, were reported by the INSP , Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrita-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Calarasi, Cluj, Constanta, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Giurgiu, Gorj, Harghita, Iasi, Ilfov, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Olt , Prahova, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vâlcea and the City of Bucharest.

Among the 211 deaths, 2 were registered in the age category 30-39 years, 6 in the age category 40-49 years, 25 in the age category 50-59 years, 45 in the age category 60-69 years, 80 in age category 70-79 years and 53 in the age category over 80 years.

194 of the recorded deaths are of patients who had comorbidities, 8 deceased patients had no comorbidities, and for 9 deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported to date.

No deaths are reported prior to the reference interval. In the reference interval (the last 24 hours) 211 deaths were recorded.

Of the total of 211 deceased patients, 193 were unvaccinated and 18 vaccinated. The deceased vaccinated patients were aged between 40 and 85 years. All deceased vaccinated patients had comorbidities.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 16.179. Of these, 1.603 are hospitalized at ATI.

Out of the total of hospitalized patients, 447 are minors, 416 being hospitalized in wards and 31 in ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 9.837.097 RT-PCR tests and 3.634.918 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 18.264 RT-PCR tests (8.139 based on case definition and medical protocol and 10.125 on request) and 25.322 rapid antigen tests were performed.

On the territory of Romania, 109.407 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 14.775 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 62.952 people are in home quarantine, and 252 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 5.912 calls were made to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on October 9, 2.051 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 389.565 lei.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.

The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for verification of the reported aspects.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other countries, 23.753 Romanian citizens have been confirmed to be infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 2.543 in Italy, 16.946 in Spain, 198 in Great Britain, 129 in France, 3.124 in Germany, 95 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 37 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 5 in the USA, 8 in Sweden, 145 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 75 in Switzerland , 4 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 8 in Bulgaria, 23 in Cyprus, 4 in India, 5 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 17 in the Republic of Moldova, 3 in Montenegro, 218 in Ireland, 5 in Singapore, 5 in Tunisia, 10 in Republic of Korea, 2 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2 in Serbia, 3 in Croatia and one each in Argentina, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan , Iran, Slovenia, Russian Federation, Finland, Poland, Kuwait and Nigeria. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and up to this moment, 194 Romanian citizens abroad, 37 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 60 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, 3 in Sweden, 5 in Ireland, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Austria, one in the USA, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo, one in Greece, one in Iran, one in Poland and one in Bulgaria, have died."
