Valeriu Gheorghita: Wave 4, Important Maximum Warning

Valeriu Gheorghita is sending all Romanians today an extremely serious warning that they should not ignore in any way, and this is because the peaceful unfolding of the winter holidays throughout Romania depends on its observance in the midst of wave 4 of infections.

Valeriu Gheorghita says that if the Romanians will respect the existing preventive measures and get vaccinated, then it is very possible to have peaceful winter holidays, but if they do not do this, then it is unlikely that things will be good, and the number of new cases to be reduced.

"It depends on how much each of us will get involved. It is obvious, on the one hand, we are talking about the role of the authorities, but, on the other hand, it is important for people to get information from official sources and to understand that only by observing sanitary measures and vaccination, following the example of other countries, we can keep the negative effects of this pandemic under control, and here I mean the number of serious cases and hospitalizations and, obviously, death.

If we look at how many cases there are every day, if we divide by five, we see how many cases we would have had in reality, given that we would have had a vaccination rate of over 80%. Likewise, the risk of death is reduced by more than ten times, which means that today, instead of having more than 440 cases, we could have had at most 44 cases of deaths. These are the benefits that vaccination, in a higher percentage, would have brought us at the level of public health and at the level of the population.

Only in this way can we, I repeat, reduce the pressure on the health system, on hospitals, to give the possibility to all those who need medical assistance for both COVID and non-COVID, to benefit from specialized medical services. The sooner we understand this and the importance and benefits of vaccination and the effectiveness of vaccines, the better it will be for us, both individually and at the level of the community we are part of."
