Coronavirus Evolution of Infections and Deaths Last Week

INSP published today a new report on the evolution of new cases of infection with the Coronavirus, but also of infections, in the last week, all in order to reveal to us how great the impact of vaccination was on saving human lives.

"Insp COVID-19 report: 92.1% of the deaths recorded in the week of October 11-17 were among unvaccinated people.

In the week of October 11 – 17, 2021, 72.3% of confirmed cases were registered in unvaccinated people;

92.1% of the registered deaths were in unvaccinated persons;

37.1% of all cases were registered in Bucharest, Iasi, Prahova, Ilfov and Constanța;

27.5% of the total deaths were registered in Bucharest, Prahova, Constanța, Dolj and Suceava.

From the beginning of the pandemic until now:

1 out of 89 of the total cases was registered with medical personnel.

85.7% of all deaths were in people over 60 and 57.5% of deaths were in men.

94% of deceased persons had at least one associated comorbidity.

We must protect vulnerable people!

Only through responsibility can we return to normality!

The simplest and most accessible method by which we can defeat the virus remains vaccination.

By vaccination against COVID-19:

  • the risk of infection is reduced;
  • the risk of virus transmission is reduced;
  • the risk of hospitalization is considerably reduced;
  • the risk of death is considerably reduced."
