DEDEMAN is one of the largest chains of DIY stores in all of Romania, having stores in almost all counties of the country, and being visited by millions of Romanians annually thanks to its good prices. The success enjoyed by DEDEMAN is due to good offers, but since the end of October, it has been forced to restrict its customers' access to stores if they do not have a digital green certificate, a COVID certificate, issued by the authorities.
DEDEMAN imposes this restriction from 26.10.2021 on the basis of Government Decision 1161 of 25.10.2021, and its effects are currently in effect for all its stores, and not only. Those from DEDEMAN have no way to evade this legal provision that the authorities in Romania impose throughout the country, and this is because there is no other method by which Romanians can have access to stores if they are not vaccinated or cured.
DEDEMAN: ATTENTION! Restriction Still Applied in All Stores
DEDEMAN still found two solutions for this problem, even if they are not 100% to the liking of all customers, but at least there is still an option for those who can no longer enter the stores. DEDEMAN's first solution is to order products from its stores online and pick them up in 4 hours from the stores' parking lots, the second is to use the company's employees to have the products bought on the spot and brought to the parking lot to be paid for.
DEDEMAN will be obliged to further restrict the access of customers without a digital green certificate in any of the locations throughout Romania until the Romanian Government takes a different decision. In the meantime, it is possible that a law will be given for the use of the COVID certificate, but the reality is that after its imposition, the number of new daily cases decreased to a tenth compared to the moment of implementation, and this is because people no longer had contact in the spaces closed, where the prevention rules are not respected.
DEDEMAN will continue to offer Romanians solutions for the problem of the COVID certificate, but this will not involve offering customers access to stores without them having such a type of digital document.
