DIGI RCS & RDS: OFFICIAL Announcement, Major Change in Early 2022

DIGI RCS & RDS OFFICIAL Announcement Major Change Beginning 2022

DIGI RCS & RDS published an extremely important official announcement from the very first days of 2022 that confirms a major change for the telecommunications group in Romania, and this is because it sold a foreign division. Those from DIGI RCS & RDS agreed at the end of 2021 to sell the local subsidiary to 4iG from Hungary, after they were denied a license to provide 5G services there, so the decision was made to give up that division telecom.

DIGI RCS & RDS has agreed with 4iG to sell its local subsidiary for the price of 625 million euros, a considerable amount that will allow the Romanian company to make major investments in the future. DIGI RCS & RDS founded in 1998 the subsidiary that it has now sold to 4iG, turning it into one of the most important telecommunications service providers in the country, something that was certainly not easy to achieve, and and here comes the large amount of sale.

DIGI RCS & RDS: OFFICIAL Announcement, Major Change in Early 2022

DIGI RCS & RDS did not have an easy life with the telecommunications authorities in Hungary, so it finally decided to exit the market instead of continuing without being able to provide 5G services, of the last generation. In 2020, DIGI's Hungarian subsidiary had revenues of 200 million euros, with millions of revenue-generating units, so we are talking about a healthy company that also generates good money for the parent company in Romania.

DIGI RCS & RDS sold its subsidiary to a group that was founded about 2 years before its subsidiary, so it has extensive experience in providing telecommunications services for local clients. In this idea, the customers who will reach 4iG should benefit from quality services from this company, as they were used to until the sale, but it remains to be seen to what extent the prices of the services will remain the same, or will be changed in some kind.

DIGI RCS & RDS is still active in Italy and Spain, where it enjoys quite a lot of success, and this is because it has a lot of subscribers who generate income in line with expectations.
