The evolution of COVID-19 infections in Romania on the record day of new cases, 26.01.2022, is presented below by CNCAV together with everything that this very large increase in the number of cases registered in our country brings.

COVID-19 situation in the last 24 hours:

The positivity rate is 31,44%;

34.255 new infections with SARS CoV 2;

94 people died.

At the moment:

7.348 people are hospitalized in wards, of which 667 are children;

692 people are hospitalized in ATI, of which 12 are children;

Of the 692 people hospitalized in ATI, 585 (84,5%) are unvaccinated people (who do not have a certificate attesting to vaccination).

Important!

People who have symptoms that may indicate the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus (fever, cough, fatigue, headache, loss of taste and smell, etc.) are asked to call their family doctor, DSP call centers or the single emergency number 112 to request testing.

People whose tests are positive can go to the COVID-19 evaluation centers (http://www.ms.ro/centre-de-evaluare-covid-19/) to receive the necessary consultation and treatment.

Attention: if you have severe forms and the symptoms manifest aggressively, call the single emergency number 112.

Vaccination remains the best solution for protection against COVID-19!

By vaccination against COVID-19:

  • the risk of infection is reduced;
  • the risk of virus transmission is reduced;
  • the risk of hospitalization is considerably reduced;
  • the risk of death is considerably reduced.

Of the total of 94 patients who died, only 17 occurred in vaccinated persons.

All vaccinated patients who died had comorbidities.
