3.000 Digital Mailboxes Purchased by the Romanian Post

The Romanian Post has officially announced the purchase of 3000 digital mailboxes in certain post offices and strategic areas in Romania, and you can find more details about this project in the press release below.

"Compania Națională Poșta Română is expanding its product portfolio and starting the process of purchasing 3.000 digital mailboxes, thus aligning itself with the dynamics of market evolution. The investment is part of the company's modernization and digitalization investment strategy, with external financing of 40 million euros.

The mailboxes are to be located both in Romanian Post offices with 24/7 access, as well as in other post offices and strategic areas of interest throughout the country, so that they are accessible for use by all customers and courier companies.

"The investment in these digital mailboxes and also in the automatic sorting lines is part of a project we have planned for the development of the company, for the benefit of our customers. This is just the starting point, and we will also carry out other investments aimed at improving the customer experience with Romanian Post and helping to expand the company, both in Romania and abroad. I am proud to be at the helm of the Romanian Post and that, together with my team, I can start this project that will transform the company into a reliable, dynamic and high-quality postal operator", said Valentin Ștefan, General Director of the Romanian Post .

In parallel with this project, Romanian Post will develop a pick-up/drop-off delivery network for online stores. This new service is designed as a result of the growth of e-commerce and will provide another delivery option to end consumers who shop online, being available in over 3.000 locations, post offices and strategic areas of interest.

The investment in Automated Sorting Systems will contribute to reducing the transit time for the transport of parcels in Romania and is part of the Romanian Post's modernization strategy.

These new projects will be supported by an external consulting team led by Gian Sharp, who, as the former CEO of DHL Romania and Cargus, has significant experience in the domestic courier market.

Poșta Română, a traditional national brand, is the market leader in the postal services sector and serves approximately 19 million Romanians, providing the most extensive network of post offices."
