Minister of Energy Last Minute Decisions Impact All of Romania

The Minister of Energy has officially announced a series of last-minute decisions with an impact for all of Romania, and this is because we are talking about measures that are necessary in this very complicated period and that are designed to avoid an energy crisis in the country.

The Minister of Energy talks below about the contracts he signed for the good of Romanians all over the country, but also how important they are in the end, so it would be good to look at them to get an idea of what what you should know right now.

"IMPORTANT! We are investing in expanding the natural gas network! Starting today and until April 26, 2022, local authorities are expected to submit funding applications, through the "Anghel Saligny" National Investment Program!

The order regarding the approval of the methodological norms for the implementation of the provisions of GEO no. 95/2021 for the approval of the "Anghel Saligny" National Investment Program, for the investment category provided for in art. 4 para. (1) lit. e) from Government GEO no. 95/2021, which I signed together with the Minister of Development, Public Works and Administration, Cseke Attila, was published in the Official Gazette this morning.

The program can finance the establishment of new natural gas distribution systems, the expansion of the natural gas distribution system in localities within an administrative-territorial unit, the modernization of natural gas distribution systems by transforming them into intelligent natural gas distribution systems.

Today I signed, on behalf of the Government of Romania, an important memorandum. Following the signing of this document, Romania will enter the map of the major producers of components for the batteries needed by the automotive industry. Two refineries will be built in Europe (one in Germany, one in Romania) that will produce the lithium powder needed for batteries, and the lithium will be brought from Canada, a country that extracts the raw material useful for this type of industry.

Thus, Romania will benefit from an investment of around 400 million euros and will benefit from new jobs because, following this financing, an industry will also develop horizontally with many other investments. Including in the PNRR we have financing possibilities for those who want to invest in Romania in the battery production cycle."
