More precisely, the US proposed to transform Huawei into a company that no longer produces mobile phones in large quantities and cannot have the chance to control the smartphone market, and this happened in 2020.
Huawei was hit extremely hard by the US sanctions and when it came to the telecommunications equipment it developed for mobile telecommunications operators around the world, especially when we talk about 5G. Huawei's 5G telecommunications equipment has become a kind of pariah in many countries in Europe and in many other areas of the globe, but despite this, the company manages to generate substantial income from them.
Huawei: What seemed Completely IMPOSSIBLE and Surprising Many People
Huawei remains the largest producer of telecommunications equipment in the world at the moment, surpassing Nokia, Ericsson, ZTE, Cisco, Samsung, but this only if sales from China are included in the total calculations. If the sales in China were taken out of the calculations, then Huawei's revenues from the sale of telecommunications equipment would be roughly equal to those of Nokia or Ericsson, but even so, the company remains an important player.
Huawei, despite the sanctions imposed by the US, still manages to remain the largest producer of telecommunications equipment in the whole world, something that is of course an extremely important achievement for the Chinese in the entire global context.
Huawei sold its division that produced cheap mobile phones under the Honor brand, but for now it managed to save the division that produces mobile telecommunications equipment.
Huawei represents almost 30% of the total sales of telecommunications equipment, and the percentage is almost halved without China, but even so, the US has not completely achieved its goal of affecting the activity of the Chinese throughout the world.
