Virgil Popescu informs the millions of Romanians in the country about a very important decision he made, and which will have a very serious impact for the entire country, he being present in Germany, where he had meetings with his local counterpart , but also with its Azerbaijani counterpart.

Virgil Popescu was also present at a conference that took place in Berlin, being one of the speakers who spoke about the energy situation in Europe at the moment, especially because of the war in Ukraine, the evolution of things being very important for Romania.

"Together with Oliver Krischer, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection - Germany, I had a working meeting to discuss strengthening bilateral relations, how we can collaborate applied to solve the problems that arose because of the war of at the border of the European Union.

The Federal Republic of Germany is an important partner of Romania in terms of investments and, at the same time, they have given us the necessary support and expertise in the field of energy. Also today, in Berlin, I had a new working meeting with Parviz Shahbazov, the Azerbaijani Minister of Energy.

We discussed the supply of natural gas, the green renewable energy transport corridor between the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea, which will be created by means of a submarine cable, as well as other investments that the Azerbaijanis want to make in Romania, in the field energy. I thank my counterpart for the good collaboration we have and for the desire to strengthen bilateral relations between Romania and Azerbaijan.

Today, during the Energy Transition Dialogue conference in Berlin, I participated in the panel discussion "Energy Transition and Energy Security - Twins or Opposites?".

I had a fruitful dialogue with Luigi di Maio - Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Italy, Benoît Revaz - Secretary of State Federal Office of Energy - Switzerland, Prof Dörte Fouquet - Director of the European Federation of Renewable Energy and Rina Bohle Zeller - specialist of of the wind turbine manufacturing company Vestas. The discussion focused on solutions to the complications in the energy market caused by Russia's war against Ukraine."
