The Minister of Education has officially announced radical changes for the school year in all schools throughout Romania, they were decided during discussions held by Government officials this very week, and below you can see how students could go to school starting in the fall .
The Minister of Education talks below about the complete modification of the structure of the school year, which will be divided into 5 learning modules, the structure of which is presented below, and this would be the biggest and most radical change for the education system in the last 30 for years in Romania.
"More precisely, the approved proposal was for the school to start on September 5 with a first learning module. After a period of several weeks, on October 24, students would go on vacation at the end of October, October 24-30 would be the first vacation, a vacation that would be given to all students and preschoolers, equally.
After this holiday, from the end of October, 24-30 October, from Monday to Sunday, there will be learning module 2, which will run until around the winter holidays, after which there will be the second holiday, 23 December until January 8.
After this second module and this second holiday, comes module 3, which would start on January 9th – Monday, January 9th. And, for the first time, this module will run until February, when we will have the third holiday in February, which can be granted in the second week of February, in the third week of February or in the fourth week of February, at the decision of each county school inspectorate, through consultation with those involved.
So it's a mobile one-week holiday in February, either the second, third or fourth week. After the February vacation, the fourth module would begin, which will take place until around the Easter holidays, and I am referring here to both the Catholic and the Orthodox ones. More precisely, the holiday would be organized between April 8-23. After this vacation comes the 5th and last module, which runs until June 16."
