The Romanian government announced today, at the beginning of the meeting held at the Victoria Palace, that it is finalizing the procedures by which Romanians who have decided to host citizens from Ukraine during this period will have their accommodation days settled, as well as food expenses, by the Romanian state in the following period .
The Romanian government says that the amount of 45 million LEI was allocated to give people money for what they did without knowing that they would be rewarded in any way by the Romanian state, most likely being surprised that they would be offered however, money from the state for such a thing in this period.
"We are starting today's government meeting because we failed, in Wednesday's meeting, to complete the procedures aimed at regulating the way in which Romanian citizens, natural persons, can benefit from the recovery of the sums they spend on the accommodation of Ukrainian citizens.
Through today's Government Decision, we have determined that, from the Government's Reserve Fund, we will allocate 45 million lei, so that, in the next period, Romanian citizens hosting Ukrainian citizens will be able to benefit from the recovery of the money spent on accommodation, in value of 50 lei per day; the recovery of amounts spent on food is also regulated. In this way, we cover the entire package of measures that we have assumed at the level of the Government."
