The Minister of Health confirmed a new very important decision that was officially taken with an impact for Romanians all over the country, and this is because the authorities decided to make a series of changes for residency training for laboratory medicine, the details being explained below.
The Minister of Health imposes this decision through order 954 of March 31, 2022, which has already been published in the Official Gazette, so that it already applies to Romania, everything presented below, directly from the order, being adopted for all programs of this kind from the country.
"Seeing the approval report no. AR 5.265 dated 29.03.2022 of the General Directorate of Human Resources, Structures and Salary Policies within the Ministry, considering the provisions of art. 10 para. (2) from Government Ordinance no. 18/2009 regarding the organization and financing of residency, approved by Law no. 103/2012, with subsequent amendments and additions.
Pursuant to art. 7 para. (4) from Government Decision no. 144/2010 on the organization and operation of the Ministry of Health, with subsequent amendments and additions, and of art. 13 para. (3) from Government Decision no. 369/2021 on the organization and operation of the Ministry of Education, with subsequent amendments and additions, the Minister and the Minister of Education issue the following order.
Starting with the November 2022 series, residents in the specialty of laboratory medicine carry out training based on the "Training curriculum in the specialty of laboratory medicine (biochemistry, hematology, immunology)", provided in annex no. 4 to the Order of the Minister of Public Health and the Minister of Education, Research and Youth no. 1.141/1.386/2007 regarding the way to carry out residency training in the specialties provided by the Nomenclature of medical, dental and pharmaceutical specialties for the healthcare network.
As amended by the Order of the Minister of Health and the Minister of Education no. 415/3.308/2022 for the modification of the training Curriculum in the laboratory medicine specialty from annex no. 4 to the Order of the Minister of Public Health and the Minister of Education, Research and Youth no. 1.141/1.386/2007 regarding the way to carry out residency training in the specialties provided by the Nomenclature of medical, dental and pharmaceutical specialties for the healthcare network.
Residents confirmed until the date of entry into force of this order in the specialty of laboratory medicine continue their training based on the Training Curriculum in the specialty of laboratory medicine in force on the date of confirmation in the specialty. The specialized departments within the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and higher medical education institutions from accredited university centers carry out the provisions of this order.
