Virgil Popescu Last Minute Measures of the European Commission Impact Romania

Virgil Popescu speaks to Romanians from all over the country about a series of new measures officially announced by the European Commission, which will be applied including in Romania, and this is because they are talking about a rapid reduction of the fuels used in Russia, and the transition towards green energy.

Virgil Popescu presents below the RePowerEU concept, one of the most important initiatives that the European Commission has recently, a series of extremely important measures being thought for the good of Europeans, and they should be implemented with priority in the next period.

"The REPowerEU plan presented by the European Commission was designed to rapidly reduce Russia's dependence on fossil fuels and accelerate the green transition.

The measures included in the REPowerEU plan can achieve this goal by achieving energy savings, by diversifying the energy supply and by accelerating the development of energy from renewable sources that would replace fossil fuels in homes, in industry and for the generation of electricity .

What solutions are proposed: energy savings, diversifying supply and supporting our international partners, accelerating the development of energy from renewable sources, reducing the consumption of fossil fuels in industry and in the transport sector, smart investments.

And Romania has already taken steps and will continue to take steps to reduce dependence on Russian gas, increase the share of green energy and apply smart measures for clean and cheap energy!

Energy savings are the fastest and cheapest way to manage the current energy crisis and reduce energy bills. The Commission proposes to strengthen long-term energy efficiency measures, including by increasing from 9% to 13% the mandatory energy efficiency target set out in the "Get 55" legislative package related to the European Green Deal objectives. The energy savings we make now will allow us to be prepared for the challenges we may face next winter. Therefore, the Commission today also published an "EU Communication on Energy Savings", which details short-term behavioral changes that could reduce gas and oil demand by 5% and encourages Member States to launch communication campaigns on this topic intended for households and businesses."
