The Minister of Health informs the millions of Romanians throughout the country about new European decisions that will be implemented in Romania in the next period, and that will be extremely beneficial, and this is because clinical trials would be approved much faster in our country .
The Minister of Health says that this measure could bring more producers of innovative molecules to do clinical studies in our country, with shorter waiting times for their approval, and separately he talks about the importance of family doctors in the Romanian health system.
"The family doctor must be the first professional in the health system to whom the patient goes for consultation, guidance and treatment. The essential role of the family medicine office is to provide medical assistance. It is of major importance in promoting prevention and a healthy lifestyle.
The Ministry of Health appreciates the activity of family doctors and knows the needs, but also the responsibilities, of this sector. In 2022, the budget for family medicine was increased by 22 percent.
Also this year, family doctors were involved in free testing of people for COVID-19. In accordance with the new health policies, from July 1, 2022 the anti-COVID-19 vaccination will be carried out only in the offices of family doctors. The leadership of the ministry pursues a solid partnership with family doctors and, on this festive day, conveys greetings and respect for these professionals!
The signs are from Europe, first of all, because it is a European legislation at the moment that we also have to respect, it is a draft law that was sent back to the Parliament before being promulgated, I hope it will be amended to be operable as quickly as possible, and to avoid these situations where we wait years for a clinical trial to be approved.
You will realize that the interest of those who develop clinical studies does not exist if they wait years for the respective study to be approved. It is also a competition between the producers of innovative molecules. It is a European framework, we will certainly have a national one as well. I already had a meeting just the other day with the representatives of the National Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices to find solutions so that certain extremely long guys can be avoided."
