In new statements, Sorin Cimpeanu speaks about the last-minute radical measures that will be implemented in schools throughout Romania starting this year, but mainly next year, in order to implement the vision of the Educated Romania project to improve the education system.
Sorin Cimpeanu explains below how these measures would be implemented starting from 2023, and about the more than 100 normative acts that are necessary for everything to be put into practice in full legality in Romania in order to fulfill this important vision.
"PNRR is not a panacea, but it is an important, unprecedented tool. I would like to remind you that at the beginning of last year, 1 billion euros were provided in the PNRR for investments in education, and now we have 3.6 billion euros, of which 1.13 billion euros are intended only for digitalization.
So here are resources for digitization, there are resources for creating standardized testing platforms. These platforms must be doubled by the standards. Considering that it is about digital administration and about an interpretation that requires a strong digital component, we also have in the PNRR a component that aims to train 100.000 teachers from the perspective of digital pedagogy.
With standards, with trained teachers, with existing platforms, until the year 2026 we will succeed, if in September 2023 we have new framework plans and new revised curricula for the other cycles as well, and we will have to have this, we will succeed as from the year 2023, and thanks to these pilots that we are starting now, we will succeed in radically changing the education system.
Starting with the year 2023, until then there are pilots and preparations, preparations for the training of teaching staff, preparations for the construction of a national bank with tens of thousands of items to reflect the degree of acquisition of the competencies by each student, and to be those competencies corresponding to a curriculum that is being worked on, and which will enter into force starting with the year 2023.
We are preparing through the implementation of Educated Romania, the largest project that involved public consultation for a long period of time, and now we will have to have the legislative package, the primary legislation for the implementation of this project, followed by the secondary legislation. It is about a number of more than 100 normative acts, ministerial orders and Government decisions that can implement the laws that will be put up for public consultation."
