Minister of Transport: New Official Measures Announced for All of Romania

Minister of Transport New Official Measures Announced All Romania

The Minister of Transport announced a series of very important new official measures for all of Romania, and this is because we are talking about decisions related to new types of roads that are to be financed by the authorities in various areas throughout the country for millions of Romanians.

The Minister of Transport explains below where exactly various amounts of money will be allocated, and in what amount, so that the road infrastructure in Romania is improved in the coming years, it being mainly about highways that connect various regions of our country.

"Work is starting on another highway sector! CNAIR approved, today, the Technical Project for the Zimbor - Porta Sălajului Section (Transilvania Highway). Thus, the construction of the 12,24 km of this section will be able to begin shortly. The contract, worth 680,4 million lei (without VAT), is financed by PNRR.

On the route of this section, the Romanian contractor is to build, until 2024, five viaducts and a bridge. CNAIR approved today the technical-economic indicators of the Focșani-Bacău Highway (section of the A7-Moldova Highway)! Their approval follows through a Government Decision.

Later, the Technical-Economic Council of CNAIR will approve the Technical Project which represents the preliminary phase to the start of tenders for the construction of the 3 Sections of the highway: Section 1 (Focșani – Domnești Târg): 35,60 km, Section 2 (Domnești Târg – Răcăciuni) : 38,78 km, section 3 (Răcăciuni – Bacău Municipality): 24,52 km. On the route of the Focșani-Bacău Highway (98,9 Km) the following are to be built: 91 bridges and overpasses, 5 road junctions, 10 service areas, 3 Maintenance and Coordination Centers. The project, with an estimated value of 8 billion lei (without VAT), is financed by PNRR.

Romania needs big infrastructure projects happening that we can see! Together with my colleagues from #PSD, today I presented a brief review of the first 6 months since I coordinated the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. We have demonstrated that it is possible, if there is will and vision. Contracts with a total value of over 3 billion euros were signed for all modes of transport.

We modified the legislation to expedite procurement and to shorten the terms required for approvals, so as to unblock projects that were "captive" to slow procedures. We continued the decentralization of projects and cooperation with local authorities. And I will continue! Romania needs investments in infrastructure especially now, when we are facing very big problems! And Romania's economy needs construction sites started and completed!"
