Minister of Transport New Important Infrastructure Contracts Signed Romania

The Minister of Transport announced the signing of new important infrastructure contracts for Romania, contracts that will form the basis of significant improvements for both road and rail traffic, and this is because significant improvements were needed by the authorities.

The Minister of Transport explains below what was signed, and what is to be done, and this in the conditions where we are talking about a lot of deficiencies in the road or railway infrastructure in Romania, but it is still good that efforts are being made to to make significant improvements for our country.

"Repair works have started on the railway infrastructure within the Port of Constanța! Yesterday, the orders to start the works and the handover minutes for the repair of 35 lines (with a total length of 13,39 km) and 75 track devices were signed. The works are carried out within the radius of Port Zone A, Port Zone B and Port Mol V stations.

The execution duration of the works is 149 days. Financing is provided from the Reserve Fund of the Government of Romania. A new contract for the Ploiești-Buzău Highway was signed today! For the 21 km of Lot 1 Dumbrava-Mizil, the execution works will start immediately!

The project includes the construction of 14 bridges and a 550 m long passage.
The association of Romanian and Italian builders has 20 months at its disposal, according to the 1,468 billion lei contract, without VAT, financed by PNRR. Investments through PNRR are a priority of the Ministry of Transport! An example in this regard is the A7, Autostrada Moldova, for which contracts were signed for the construction of 2 of the 13 lots.

Although, according to the PNRR, the fourth quarter of 2023 is the deadline for communicating the results of the public procurement procedures, the Ministry of Transport has proposed as a target the fulfillment of the milestones by the end of 2022! Internally or externally, Romania's interests must be permanently promoted.
